The entire edition of "Petit Pregnant Woman" was immediately sold out in the year of its creation. I mention it, because it was and is a crucial work for my development as an artist. The model that was posing for this sculpture was a young girl well advanced in her pregnancy. But her modeled body never seemed to be pregnant even though I had the impression that I had given the belly and chest enough volume. In the end I decided to cut off her legs and arms. It wasn't until I took off the head that the focus was finally set on the belly. Apart from working on the interfaces, I didn't need to change anything. Now the pregnant body was finally visible. It showed me that in order to express a certain condition of the body you do not necessarily need limbs. Only after this revelation I was able to create sculptures such as "Decision", "Felicity", "exuberance", etc.
